NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania is hosting an upcoming open house event for a newly renovated property located at 635 Brook Street, Scranton, PA 18505. The open house will be held on Saturday, May 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Wednesday, May 29, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

NeighborWorks acquired this property in 2015 to rehabilitate and resell to a modest-income household to promote affordable homeownership. This renovated property boasts numerous features, including a spacious living room, dining room, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a garage. Priced at $200,000, the home presents an excellent opportunity for prospective buyers.

The renovation of 635 Brook Street is made possible through a partnership between NeighborWorks and the City of Scranton Office of Economic and Community Development (OECD). The acquisition, rehabilitation and sale of this property was accomplished using funds provided to NeighborWorks from OECD through the HOME Investment Partnerships Program. This effort is part of the City of Scranton’s ongoing initiative to promote housing in the city through funding affordable housing opportunities. Construction work was completed by NJB Construction Inc.

The property is eligible for the Scranton Homebuyer Assistance Program. Qualification for the funds through the program requires the applicant to fall under the 80% area median income and qualification for financing from a reputable lending institution.

Interested individuals can reach out to NeighborWorks at 570-558-2490 or via email at intake@nwnepa.org for more information.
