The Garbage Olympics is a part of Scranton City Pride. Bring your friends and get competitive! It is a 2-hour race between local teams to see who can collect the most trash around the community. We provide litter pickers, bags, gloves, glasses, and water. All we need you to do if bring your can-do spirit and a few friends! There are four prize categories available this year: Most Trash Collected, Most Team Spirit, Strangest Item Found, and Most Volunteers Recruited.

The West Scranton Garbage Olympics will kick off at 10:30am at NeighborWorks' Office at 815 Smith Street.

Our free homebuyer education workshops are offered multiple times each year. By attending these workshops, prospective buyers can:

Participate in discussions led by local housing-industry professionals, including lenders, Realtors, property inspectors, insurance agents, homeownership specialists, and others you will come into contact with during your home-buying process

Learn how to avoid predatory lending

Participate in a question-and-answer session with all speakers

Have the opportunity to interact with other homebuyers

NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania will host its second annual Carbondale Block Party and cookout scheduled for Saturday, July 26, with a rain date of July 27, at the YMCA Park at 89 N Main St, Carbondale, PA, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. This family-friendly event aims to bring together residents of all ages to highlight the city's unique features and foster community engagement.

The Carbondale Block Party is designed as a community-oriented event, showcasing the city's strengths and fostering connections among residents. By collaborating with local partners such as the City of Carbondale, the YMCA, and the Carbondale Public Library, NeighborWorks aims to provide a memorable experience filled with activities, resources, and opportunities for community engagement.

This year, NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania is excited to present its fourth annual West Scranton Fall Festival! This event is FREE to the public and will be held on Saturday, September 20! Rain date is September 27.

The festival will be at Clover Field (400 W Locust St, Scranton) from noon to 4pm. Available activities will include art activities, music, bounce houses, disc golf, food vendors and more!
