
NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania (NWNEPA) seeks an enthusiastic individual to provide a year of service, beginning August 30th, 2021 through AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America). NWNEPA is a nonprofit organization that revitalizes neighborhoods and creates opportunities for individuals and families to improve their lives through quality housing and financial guidance.
About the Position
Create to Connect! NeighborWorks NEPA is looking for a unique candidate to create a marketing campaign that will connect people to services. NeighborWorks NEPA provides services to multiple counties comprised of both urban and rural communities. Several of these counties do not have Housing Counseling agencies, creating limiting access to our services like financial capabilities, homebuyer education, and foreclosure prevention. The Marketing and Communications VISTA will work to create multi-media material to target underserved and marginalized communities.
Familiarize self with NWNEPA’s existing programs
Spread awareness of NWNEPA’s West Scranton Neighborhood Plan and generate support for its implementation.
Create a reusable yearly marketing plan for Homeownership Center that is targeted to bring awareness and engage clients for services.
Foster relationships with community members and partners though events.
Identify a solid marketing plan specifically for older adults around aging in place.
This position requires a commitment to serve as a full-time employee of NWNEPA for a full year. A living allowance, education award, training, and other benefits are provided. Qualifications
Responsible, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple on-going projects
Strong interest in Community Based Services
Knowledge of Social Media and various advertisement and marketing platforms
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and graphic art design
Valid driver’s license and privately owned vehicle for service-related travel
Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
