This year, NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania is presenting Run for the Roses: Kentucky Derby Party for the second year in a row. Event proceeds will benefit our older neighbors across northeastern Pennsylvania. It will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 5-8pm at the Country Club of Scranton.
Complete with multiple areas to view the live broadcast of the horse race, passed hours d’oeuvres and an outdoor venue, Run for the Roses celebrates the 186-year-old race held at Churchill Downs racetrack. Event goers are encouraged to dress up in “Derby attire” complete with large hats, bow ties and colorful sun dresses and suits.
The event will feature food, a cigar lounge & bourbon bar, derby drink features, a silent auction, and entertainment by Doug Smith and the Dixieland All-Stars.
