Important Update about Our Services in Light of Coronavirus (COVID-19)

NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania cares about the health and safety of our customers, staff, and community partners. Effective today, in response to the recommendations from the CDC and the PA Department of Health to limit person-to-person interactions, we are closing our office to the public until further notice. Our goal is to keep our team healthy so we can continue to provide services and support to our clients and the community as this situation unfolds.

In order to accomplish this, we have put measures in place to keep operations running smoothly even as most of our staff switch to remote work situations. We will continue to provide homebuyer education and counseling services virtually through videoconference and teleconference technology. We are also in the process of contacting our active Aging in Place customers to identify crucial needs they may have for the foreseeable future. Lastly, we are moving all our previously-scheduled meetings for various programs (Beautiful Blocks, West Scranton Revitalization, etc.) to videoconference meetings for the next 3 weeks.

Other Announcements and Support:

  • Our in-person Homebuyer Education Workshop scheduled for Saturday, March 28, is canceled. All registrants will receive a voucher to access our online homebuyer education course at no cost.
  • We are extending our Beautiful Blocks pre-application deadline until Monday, March 23, at 4:30pm. Applications can be emailed to ghetman@nwnepa.org or dropped off at the external mailbox at our office.
  • Customers and partners can continue to contact our team members through our main phone line (570.558.2490) during our normal business hours of 9am to 4:30pm or via email at any time. Voicemails and emails will be returned as promptly as possible.
  • Our organization seeks to be proactive in assisting our neighbors during this crisis. If you know of someone who needs specific housing support, please contact our office.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we navigate these unprecedented times together. We are monitoring the news closely and, if the situation changes, will post updates about our services to our website.
